At least 9,000 refugees have been affected by flooding in Niger since July. Many have lost all their property and are living in dire situations with little food, shelter and water. UNHCR and its partners are providing emergency assistance but with more rains expected, more urgent action is needed to protect thousands of lives. About 460,000 people in the country have been affect. Floods have devasted the region with more than 700,000, including refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs), in immediate need of shelter, clean water, and health services in Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, and Niger.
