Juan Reyna is a husband and step father to two children, 9 and 13, who have been waiting for his release for almost a year.
They have missed out on special occasions, holidays, and are approaching their first Christmas without their father. Juan’s wife, Guadalupe, should not have to stress about providing for her children alone due to Juan suddenly being taken away from his family while on his way to work. Juan’s children should not have to struggle in school due to the trauma this event has caused them. Juan is not a threat to public safety.
Juan Reyna has his whole life here in Texas: his wife, kids, job, and home. He is a construction worker—an essential worker, and thanks to people like him, we have a roof to sleep under. His wife, Guadalupe, has difficult medical issues, including a lung condition and she and their children are suffering immensely without him.
We do not need anymore policies that threaten to tear families apart. Although Juan and families like his suffer the most, this broken immigration system affects us all. This is why we need comprehensive immigration reform that will value all immigrants and we will continue to fight to ensure our immigrant neighbors continue to build success in the country they consider home. Will you write a letter urging ICE to free Juan Reyna now?
